Kent was a knight of Caelin. He was known for his polite and serious demeanor. This caused him to banter often with Sain, the less mature knight whom Kent usually worked alongside. He was one of the playable units in Fire Emblem.

Background[edit]

Lyn's Story[edit]

Kent and Sain were deployed by Hausen to find his daughter Madelyn, whom had eloped to the Sacae Plains long ago with the chieftain of the Lorca tribe. Kent and Sain arrived to find that the tribe had been slaughtered by bandits, but they received word that the daughter of Madelyn and the Lorca chieftain was still alive. They eventually found the girl, Lyn, in "Chapter 1: The Footsteps of Fate". They joined with her in order to escort her back to Caelin, but they found many obstacles along their path. At one point Lundgren, who was usurping the throne of Caelin, declared that Lyn was a fraud and that Kent and Sain were oath-breaking traitors. This forced Kent and Sain to battle many of their former friends in the Caelin knights, including their old mentor General Eagler.

In "Chapter 10: The Distant Plains", Lyn's party successfully reached Castle Caelin after killing Lundgren. After Hausen recovered, Kent was appointed Commander of the Caelin knights with Sain as his subcommander. Kent also began teaching proper manners to Wil.

One year later, Kent joins Eliwood's group along with the rest of Lyn's troops in "Noblewoman of Caelin" (Eliwood Chapter 15, Hector Chapter 16), in order to defend Castle Caelin when it is attacked by troops from Laus. Kent continues riding with the group for the remainder of their journey.

Possible Fates[edit]

Kent has several different endings depending on who he reaches A Level Support with.

  • Default Ending- Kent became the steward of Caelin after it was placed under Ostia's protection. He became loved by the people for his dedication.
  • Farina and Kent's Ending- Farina began working as a mercenary in Caelin in order to get closer to Kent. After Lyn placed Caelin under Ostian protection, Kent resigned and began working with Farina as a mercenary in Ilia.
  • Fiora and Kent's Ending- Kent and Fiora returned to their respective countries of Caelin and Ilia. But after Caelin was placed under Ostian protection, Kent resigned from his post and moved to Ilia, and he was married to Fiora.
  • Lyn and Kent's Ending- Kent and Lyn later left Caelin (after it was put under Ostian protection) lived happily together in the Sacae Plains, having found love together.

Support Conversation Summaries[edit]

Kent is capable of having Support conversations with six other characters.

  • Farina- Kent and Farina meet, and Farina initially seems to dislike Kent for being serious like her sister Fiora, saying that serious people make her feel cramped. However, she continues talking to Kent and later tells him that she feels secure around him.
  • Fiora- Kent and Fiora meet, and Fiora remembers that Florina had told her that she and Kent were alike. Kent and Fiora later were bothered about the intimate relationships among some of the people in the army, as it distracted them from their duties, so they decided to talk to Lyn about limiting the interactions between the two sexes. But at the same time, Kent and Fiora unwittingly did the same thing they were trying to prevent, as they grew to love each other and decided not to pitch the idea for the policy to Lyn.
  • Heath- Heath, lost and without anyone to follow, meets with Kent and asks to join the Caelin knights. But first Kent asks Heath about why he had left Bern's knights, and found out that he was a fugitive from Bern with no love for his country anymore. After meeting Lyn, Heath decides to go ahead with his plan, glad to finally have a master that he can follow wholeheartedly.
  • Lyn- Lyn asks Kent if he is only serving her because she is the granddaughter of Lord Hausen. But Kent later tells her the truth, that he genuinely cares for her. Kent also promised to always stay at Lyn's side.
  • Sain- The first of their conversations is a typical Kent and Sain conversation where Sain tries to show off for the women, while Kent tries to make Sain stop. Later on, Sain talks to Kent about Lyn and they find that they both have feelings for her. But Sain decides to stand to the side and starts training Kent on how to talk with women so he could get together with Lyn. Kent and Sain then agree to watch over each other during battle, having grown closer as friends.
  • Wallace- Wallace tells Kent the story of how he disobeyed Lord Hausen's orders to prevent Hassar and Madelyn from eloping all those years ago. Kent says that he had always believed in blind loyalty, but Wallace teaches Kent that he has to keep to love of his lord in his heart to make the right decisions about whether or not to follow orders. Kent thanks Wallace and tells him he had much to learn from him.

Trivia[edit]

  • He was born in the month of the pegasus.
  • Although Kent appears to be the game's "Red Knight" (according to Fire Emblem tradition, Red Knights have high strength and defense while Green Knights have high skill and speed), this game switches around the tradition by giving Kent high skill and speed, the traits of a Green Knight. Conversely, Sain is the games's Green Knight and has the stats of a Red Knight.
