Kammy Koopa is a Magikoopa servant of Bowser who appears as a recurring boss in the first two Paper Mario games. She has been described as the brains behind his brawn and has acted as his secondhand Koopa in her appearances.

Background[edit]

Kammy made her first appearance in Paper Mario, where she carried out various tasks for Bowser, such as spying on Mario, hindering Mario's progress, keeping an eye on Princess Peach, and building a machine to super-charge Bowser. She stood with Bowser until the final battle with Mario, but she was ultimately defeated by Twink with the help of Peach's wishes.

Kammy reappeared in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, with the same general servitude to Bowser as before. She followed him on his quest through Rogueport, offering him advice and scouting for the locations of the Crystal Stars. She and Bowser were defeated by Mario at the Palace of Shadows, and presumably returned to Bowser's Castle afterwards to suffer their defeat.

Trivia[edit]

  • Her name is simply a feminine version of Kamek's name. Her Japanese name is "Kamekkubaba", which combines the Japanese name for Kamek/Magikoopas in general with a word that can mean "old hag" or "grandmother".
  • Kammy goes from having 10 HP in Paper Mario to having 50 HP in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Kammy is the only Magikoopa who wears shades instead of glasses.
  • She has not appeared in any Paper Mario game or any Mario game in general since The Thousand-Year Door.
  • A similar character named Kamella appears as a boss in Super Mario Galaxy.
