Mike Jones is a 16 year old star pitcher from Seattle, Washington. Though an ordinary teenager, he is suddenly swept into an adventure when he goes looking for his uncle on C-Island. This is the setting for StarTropics, the game in which Mike debuts. At the end he has to defeat the evil alien Zoda and rescue the last of the Argonians.

Mike returns in his last appearance for Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II where he is sent traveling through time. Assisted by Princess Mica, he goes through time meeting people from across history, including Sherlock Holmes, Cleopatra, and the wizard Merlin. Mike Jones has not appeared in another game since, with the StarTropics franchise being one of the most obscure of Nintendo's titles.
