Flurrie is a partner of indefinite species appearing in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and a retired actress.

Background[edit]

When a secret lever evaded Mario and his friends, Punio recommended they search out the help of a close friend of the Punies. Having long been a stage actress in the past, she had decided to give up the life of glitter and settle into a more peaceful life. Though she had enjoyed the friendship of the punies and the serenity of the forest, she still itched to return to show business. But before she was to meet Mario, she had lost her necklace in Boggly Woods. Though she was more than willing to help, Mario was forced to take a detour to go back and find her necklace. After introducing herself in style, complete with a disco ball, she joined Mario's quest. But not because of the importance of his quest, but because of his 'manly mustache' and her desire to protect her man.

Perhaps no other feature stands out about her more than the certain inherent 'bounciness' to her character. Her life in show business has made her extremely vain, so much that she does not like to be seen without her necklace, which she considers integral to her image. She is easily the largest of his partners in the quest, making her the real 'strong arm' of the party. She is highly affectionate to people smaller than her, which is generally about everyone she meets. Though she is described as being a 'Wind Spirit', no other examples exist to compare her to. By her assisting Mario in his quest, her fame had increased steadily.

Once the Crystal Stars had been saved, she resumed her acting career with a stage adaptation of the adventure with Mario called Paper Mario, taking on Doopliss as her co-star to reprise the role of Mario. Despite her busy career, she still traveled with Mario once more after he returned to Rogueport to tie up some loose ends.

Gameplay[edit]

Outside of battle, Flurrie can exhale gusts of wind strong enough to blow away some enemies and stun others or remove parts of the scenery (those being pieces of paper that cover important locations and items).

In battle, Flurrie has the following attacks:

  • Body Slam - Flurrie rushes forward and jumps on top of an enemy.
  • Gale Force - For 4 FP, Flurrie can exhale a gust of wind strong enough to blow enemies out of battle.
  • Lip Lock - For 3 FP, Flurrie can float up to an enemy and kiss it, absorbing its HP and restoring her own.
  • Dodgy Fog - For 4 FP, Flurrie will cover Mario with clouds that increase his chances of avoiding an attack.

Flurrie starts with 15 HP, but will progress to 25 and then 35 HP as her rank is raised.
