Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (known in Japan as Fire Emblem: Akatsuki no Megami, which translates to Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn) is the tenth game in the Fire Emblem series and the first for the Nintendo Wii. It is a sequel to the previous game, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and is the first sequel to a Fire Emblem game released outside of Japan.

Story[edit]

The story, divided into four parts among forty-five chapters, is set three years after Path of Radiance. The first part features Sothe and Micaiah, who form a group known as the Dawn Brigade in order to overthrow Begnion's oppression of Daein. Nearly every character from Path of Radiance returns, and most plot threads (such as the identity of the Black Knight and whether or not he survived the events of Path of Radiance) are also resolved in this game.

Gameplay[edit]

Like previous games in the series, the game is a chess-like strategy game in which various soldiers of varying classes can be moved around the battlefield in order to attack enemy forces, with the exact goal differing from chapter to chapter. Their are few changes to gameplay and graphics from Path of Radiance, except for the addition of Dark Magic and SS Weapon Ranks, as well as advanced graphics during special cutscenes.

Legacy[edit]

Sequels[edit]

This was the last game to be released set in this continuity. The next game to be released would be Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon for the Nintendo DS, which as a remake of the original Fire Emblem game.
