Farina is a playable character in Fire Emblem. She is one of the two playable units who only appears in Hector's Tale.

Background[edit]

Farina was the middle sister of the three pegasus knight sisters, and like Fiora and Florina she became a mercenary. However, she was like the black sheep of the the family, as she was very greedy and obsessed with gold. This often put her at odds with Fiora and led to a falling-out between the two. After becoming a mercenary, she worked in the mercenary company Strongwings, which was part of the third division of pegasus knights.

In "Crazed Beast" (Hector Chapter 25), Farina approached Hector while he and Eliwood were leading their company in battle with Pascal. She offered to help Hector in the battle, but she charged the outrageous sum of 20,000 gold (likely having heard that Hector gave a large bribe to one man in Bern to find the location of the Fire Emblem). She claimed to be including charges for hazard pay and pegasus food and such. Hector hired her, and she served his group for the remainder of the journey.

Possible Fates[edit]

Farina has four different endings, depending on what other characters she reaches A Rank Support with.

  • Default Ending- Farina became commander of the pegasus knights in Ilia. Her skill earned her high fame and high prices.
  • Dart and Farina's Ending- Farina had fallen in love with Dart, which led her to remain in Lycia. She often visited Badon and flirted with Dart at every chance. She raised the possibility of becoming a female pirate, saying it would be quite profitable.
  • Hector and Farina's Ending- Farina married Hector and gave him comfort that he needed to get over the pain of his brother's death and become an enlightened ruler of Ostia. In this ending, Farina becomes the mother of Lilina.
  • Kent and Farina's Ending- After Caelin was placed under Ostian protection, Kent moved to Ilia. There Farina and Kent worked together as mercenaries.

Support Conversation Summaries[edit]

Farina is capable of having Support conversations with seven other characters.

  • Dart- In the first Support conversation, Farina asks Dart what is pay is, and he says that he receives no payment and doesn't mind because he likes to travel and doesn't really need to pay for anything. Farina insults him for his nonexistent pay and mentions her 20,000 gold payment, although Dart calls that money "chump change" and mentions that he has big dreams. In the second conversation, Farina inquires about Dart's dreams, and Dart tells her about the pirate king's treasure map. She is amazed by the value of the treasure and at first claims the map is fake, but Dart shows Farina proof that the map is genuine. Farina then threatens to find the treasure first and take it. In the third conversation, Dart and Farina argue as they try to interpret the map's riddles. He calls her greedy, and Farina says that he's no different since he'd become rich from the treasure, but then Dart reveals his true intentions to re-hide the treasure instead of keeping it. She proceeds to call him stupid and they continue arguing over who will find the treasure first.
  • Dorcas- Dorcas and Farina meet and compare wages- with Farina being paid 20,000 gold while Dorcas is receiving only 2,000 gold in advance, and Farina flaunts her higher pay. Dorcas then asks Farina how he could make gold like her, and she agrees to help him only because he has a sick wife. But eventually, Farina decides to give Dorcas some of her own gold, which is enough to pay for Natalie's medication. Dorcas is extremely greatful, and Farina refuses his promises to pay her back one day until he promises to pay her back everything she gave him and more.
  • Fiora- In the first conversation, Fiora and Farina meet up, and both try apologizing for the argument they had in their last meeting. But as both of them claim it was their fault, they begin to argue again. In the second conversation, Fiora wonders why the two of them always wind up fighting, and Farina tells Fiora to stop taking everything out on herself. She remembers the time when Farina was just a pegasus esquire and Fiora went out of her way to save her, botching a mission in the process. Farina decides to pay her back for the money she lost from that mission. Fiora is surprised that Farina was worried about her for all that time, and Farina tells Fiora that her naive idealism is what made her the sister she loved. In the final conversation, Farina decides to return to Ilia with Fiora and manage her finances, but she demands ten percent of Fiora's pay in exchange.
  • Florina- Florina and Farina are reunited after not seeing each other in a long time. Florina finds that Farina has not changed and is still overly interested in money. Farina later tells Lyn some embarrassing stories about Florina's behavior at Ilian festivals. Florina then gets angry at Farina, and Farina said that it was all a test to see if Florina had changed. Farina said that Florina had grown and become very powerful and like a different person.
  • Hector- Hector confronts Farina (whom had convinced Hector to hire her for 20,000 gold) and tells her that he found out she was being grossly overpayed, as mercenaries were paid by the battle and Farina should have received something closer to 4,000 gold. Farina attempts to make excuses for her higher pay, then she departs, telling Hector she is going off to earn her pay. In the next conversation, Hector notices Farina seems tired and tells her to rest, but she thinks it is a trick to swindle her out of her pay and tries to walk out on home. During Hector's attempt to intervene, Farina falls from her pegasus onto Hector, causing him to remember the time Florina fell on him. Farina then thinks that Hector is trying to turn the three sisters into his mistresses and gets angry that mercenaries are treated as objects. In the final conversation, Farina collapses and Hector takes care of her. She then plans to go back into action, but Hector has her continue resting by convincing her that he cares about her and not about lowering her wage.
  • Karla- In the first conversation, Farina asks Karla what her pay is, and when Karla says she has no pay and does not care for it, Farina is shocked and tells her that women need an income. Karla admits to being unfamiliar with the ways of the world. In the second conversation, Karla discloses her past and how she was unworthy of wielding a sword due to her gender, and hos she found similar customs in other lands, but Farina tells her that only rich men are actually worth anything and tells her how in Ilia the women work and put the bread on the table because only they could ride pegasii and become pegasus knights. She says men are mostly like luggage there, and Karla wonders if there are any sane lands out there. In the final conversation, Farina asks Karla about her plans after their journey with Hector ends, but Karla is unsure and says that she embarked on a journey in search of a man. Farina then invites Karla to join her as a mercenary and promises to help Karla to become independent and not spend her life chasing a guy. Karla agrees to try out that idea.
  • Kent- Kent and Farina meet, and Farina initially seems to dislike Kent for being serious like her sister Fiora, saying that serious people make her feel cramped. However, she continues talking to Kent and later tells him that she feels secure around him.
