Exeggcute is a Pokémon resembling a group of living eggs that was introduced in the first generation games. Its evolved form is Exeggutor.

Information

One Exeggcute consists of six eggs which form a cluster and share a unique telepathic link. The eggs attract each other and spin around, and there need to be six for it to maintain balance. They are often mistaken for normal eggs. When disturbed, they quickly gather and attack in swarms. Even if one egg is separated from the group, it can usually track the others due to their unique bond.

Although they most clearly resemble eggs, an analysis of them has shown that they more closely resemble plant seeds. Its shell is durable enough that with cracks, they will still survive and not spill their contents. Once it becomes an adult, it has a tendency to let comrades plant footprints on their back. Exceggcute's shell gains more cracks as it nears evolution. It evolves into Exeggutor when exposed to a Leaf Stone.

Mainstream Games

In Pokémon: Red, Blue, Yellow, FireRed and LeafGreen Versions|FireRed and LeafGreen, Exeggcute was uncommonly found at the Safari Zone. In FireRed/LeafGreen, they were also rarely found at Berry Forest. In Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold and SoulSilver, they could only be found by headbutting trees throughout Johto. Exeggcute could also be caught at the Pokéwalker's Big Forest course, from which it could be transferred to HeartGold/SoulSilver.

In Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, Exeggcute appeared at the Great Marsh after the National Pokédex was unlocked. In Black and White, it appeared at Route 18 during swarms.

Other Games

In Pokémon Pinball, it could be caught a Fuchsia City. In Pokémon Channel, they appeared at Viridian Forest on rainy mornings and nights. In Pokémon Trozei!, Exeggcute appeared at Secret Storage 6, Secret Storage 17, Endless Level 19 and Mr. Who's Den. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams, it could be recruited at the fourteenth floors of Howling Forest.

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, the first thirteen basement floors of Mystifying Forest, the first twenty-nine basement floors of Mystery Jungle and the first five floors of Lush Prairie. Exeggcute also appeared in Pokémon Rumble at Windy Prairie.

• In the Pokémon anime, Exeggcute was featured in one episode where it belonged to an incompetent magician named Melvin. Its Hypnosis was able to place Ash under Melvin's control, who used it to weaken Exeggutor that he caught, and he also had the Exeggcute hypnotize people into attending his show. It eventually evolved after being attacked by Team Rocket (without Leaf Stone involvement). Exeggcute also made some minor appearances in later episodes.
• In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Exeggcute was shown in the Yellow arc as one of Bill's Pokémon. It evolved into Exeggutor by the FireRed/LeafGreen arc.

Trivia

• Its name is a play on "execute" combined with "eggs". Its name also contains "cute", which may be intention considering they are infantile.
