Dribble and Spitz are a pair of Taxi Drivers that appear in the WarioWare series, usually hosting their own microgames.

Background[edit]

The duo operate a rather special taxi car - designed by Dr. Crygor - that is capable of not only normal taxi service in Diamond City, but can also even go into space when the fare calls for it. They are also credited for being the ones who originally taught Wario how to drive. The two speak with a Bronx accent. While Dribble seems to be the serious hard worker of the two and does all the driving, Spitz seems to only enjoy playing around and seems to only be around to give Dribble company, although Game & Wario reveals that Spitz is actually Dribble's superior. Dribble himself is not very bright and is something of a speed freak. Spitz is the brighter of the two and enjoys reading science fiction. His desire to become a cabby in space is what eventually led to their taxi car's upgrade.

They joined WarioWare as game developers, initially dealing with scifi-themed games. In WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! they give a taxi ride to a child (name and gender matching the player) who wanted a trip to the ocean. Once they finally arrived, the child transformed into a merperson and returned to the ocean. Unfortunately the duo forgot to collect the fare before the child got away. In WarioWare, Inc. Mega Party Game$ the two pick up a disguised Orbulon in their taxi, not realizing who it is. After landing on Orbulon's home planet, the alien made the two taxi drivers into his servants. But after getting hit by an asteroid, they end up landing in Diamond City and pick up Dr. Crygor on the way home.

While driving down the interstate in WarioWare: Twisted!, their cab breaks down after Spitz starts messing around with the radio. After they fix what went wrong (which involved a number of mini-games), they set off again. After Spitz falls asleep, Dribble decides to mix up his route and takes off into space where he meets and alien who requests a trip to Club Sugar. Though the duo don't host any games in WarioWare: Touched!, they do appear in the main menu to drop off any new characters that have been unlocked. They also appear to escort Mike the Karaoke Robot home after he heads out into space to put on a show.

While washing the taxi down in WarioWare: Smooth Moves, they are approached by a young lady who asks them for a ride to Tomorrow Hill. Following a series of dramatic closeups, they take off towards their destination (represented by mini-games). Upon finally arriving, the young lady heads off into the distance. While the duo watch, they are stunned when suddenly a huge alien space appears in front of her and she shifts into an alien form and is beamed up on the ship. While the alien ship flies away, Spitz realizes that once again they didn't get paid their fare.

They also appear in WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase, where they are among the remaining members of WarioWare after some of the others defected to Diamond Software. Their scenario involved the pair competing in a car rally. They also appeared in Game & Wario, where they hosted the Taxi minigame. This minigame has them combating a UFO; Dribble drives the taxi while Spitz shoots at the UFO with a laser pistol to keep it from abducting animals.

Other Appearances[edit]

Video Games[edit]

  • In the Super Smash Bros. series, Dribble and Spitz have been represented by two stickers (an individual sticker of each of them from Mega Party Game$!) in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and an Advanced Support Spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. As a Support Spirit, their effect is to increase the power of battering items. When fought in a Spirit battle, the Spirit of Dribble and Spitz possessed Wario and Pichu, respectively. During the battle, Dribble!Wario would focus on using his motorcycle attack, and all characters would move at uncontrollable speeds.
