Carpaccio is a thief who heads Sigil Securities. He first appears in Wario: Master of Disguise in Episode 4: A Third Thief Brings Grief!. Like the other characters in the game, he originates from a television show rather than the same world that most of the Wario games take place in.

Background[edit]

The latest in the long like of the Carpaccio clan and the president of Sigil Securities. Despite running a security company, Carpaccio's mindset is all about protecting a person's pocket so his company can better steal it. As a result Carpaccio boasts an impressive amount of technological gadgets and makes use of the Sir Lance-A-Lot series of robots (and their variations) to do his dirty work. Carpaccio is a rival of Count Cannoli, though the two had not previously crossed paths before. He is a smart man who prefers to use his charm and wit to solve problems. As a result, he's always one step ahead of the competition.

When Wario started going after the Wishstones, it didn't take long for him to get in on the action. He managed to get to the Smithsnorian Museum before Wario did. Because he was expecting Cannoli, he filled the museum with booby traps as he found his way to the Sphinx in order to find out about the next piece of the Wishstone. By the time Wario had caught up, Carpaccio was already on his way to Sneezemore Cave. When Wario made it to the ice cave, Carpaccio had already set up a lock on the doors leading to the Wishstone. When Wario came to claim the Wishstone, Carpaccio at first mistook him for Cannoli, but Wario quickly disassociated himself with his old foe.

Carpaccio quickly concluded Wario was a whiner and locked him out. However while he began to make off with the Wishstone, Wario managed to get through the locked doors anyways. Despite Wario's inability to remember his name, Carpaccio decided to deal with him by having his Sir Lance-A-Lots merge into him, turning him into a giant bubble that proceeded to swallow Wario. However he underestimated the Purple Wind and found himself defeated. While Wario headed off to find the next piece, Carpaccio covertly struck an alliance with the Count to defeat the Purple Wind.

After Wario managed to claim yet another piece, Canolli invited Wario to Sweatmore Peak to get a clue to the next piece. To perfect the trap, Carpaccio arranged for the Barfatronic Lavachomper to fill the volcano with even more lava than usual. Yet Wario was able to defeat it and continued on to Blowhole Castle where Cannoli's arrangement with the Dolphinian emperor failed to yield results. Eventually Wario came to Carpaccio's lab and despite the power being shut down and installing a hasty wall to keep Wario out, the two were once again confronted by the greedy Purple Wind.

Rather than challenge Wario to a battle he knew he would lose, Carpaccio arranged for a race as he believed that Wario could never beat him in a contest of speed. Using a rigged obstacle course (in which only Wario had to deal with obstacles), he proposed that the winner get all the currently collected Wishstone pieces. Yet even with the odds in his favor, Wario was able to best him in the contest. Not willing to admit defeat, Carpaccio headed him off to the Allergio Gardens to hide the gem that unlocked the door leading to the final Wishstone piece. Yet even then Wario was able to find his way leading to the Wishstone and there was able to reassemble the pieces.

There it was revealed that the dame that had been following Wario around was none other than the demon Terrormisu. She revealed her hatred for both Carpaccio and Cannoli, as their ancestors had managed to foil the attempts to bring about her return countless times in the past. She quickly jolted Carpaccio with electricity, but before she could deliver the killing stroke, Cannoli arrived in the knick of time to carry an unconscious Carpaccio to safety. What happened to him afterwards is unknown.

  • By combining with his Sir Lance-A-Lots, Carpaccio will transform himself into a giant icy bubble with his face. Rather than attack Wario, he will instead swallow him. Wario can move around freely inside, but in the middle is Carpaccio's power source with a set of electric switches. By creating blocks with Arty Wario, he can activate the switches and cause damage. Each time he does so, there will be more switches than before, for a total of four switches at the end. His primary attack is creating two energy balls that will spin around inside the power core before being enlarged into giant boulders. Using Cosmic Wario's gun, he can shoot them. If he shoots the one that was on the side where the glowing energy ball was, it will cause both boulders to vanish. If he shoots the wrong one, they'll both explode. He will also use icy attacks as well, including that one that will freeze Wario unless he uses his Dragon Wario's fire breath.

  • Unlike the previous battle, Carpaccio will not fight with Wario. Instead he will challenge him to an obstacle course through a part of his laboratory. The path set for Wario is filled with obstacles that will require him to use his various forms to get through, while Carpaccio's is inside the inner loop and is not rigged. Though Carpaccio moves slow, if he manages to get ahead of Wario he will set flame traps to slow Wario down. The easiest way to slow him down is for Arty Wario to draw blocks in his path to prevent him from moving.

Trivia[edit]

  • Like Cannoli and Tiaramisu, his name is a type of Italian dish.
  • He shares an unusual resemblance to Tiaramisu in both his stature, facial features, and glasses. There is never any implied relationship between the two, but given the fact that the two never appear together until the end may imply that Tiaramisu was an attempt to misdirect the player into thinking she was Carpaccio in disguise.
