Anna is a recurring character from the Fire Emblem series who is known for being its most recurring character, appearing in every game save for Fire Emblem Gaiden. In most games she performs an NPC role as a shopkeeper, but she later appeared as a playable unit in Fire Emblem Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates. In most continuities she has a lover named Jake.
Background[edit]
Fire Emblem 1/11[edit]
Anna appeared in Chapter 11, living at Knorda. She was worried for Jake, whom had gone out to fight for Grust in the war, but knew he would only talk to the most beautiful of women. If Jake visited her after being recruited into the opposing Archanean army, Anna would support his decision while wishing he would stay put for a change. In Jake's ending, it was said that he and Anna dreamed of traveling to distant lands (which is foreshadowing their appearances in the later games of the series).
Outside of the storyline, she runs the game's secret shops and appears when the player chooses to suspend their game.
Fire Emblem 3[edit]
Anna once more runs the secret shops and appears when the player chooses to suspend their game. Despite Monshou no Nazo being a remake of the first game, Jake as well as Anna are cut from the game's storyline.
Fire Emblem 4[edit]
In Seisen no Keifu, Anna is found in Chapter 7, where she was residing in Lenster. She only appeared if Laylea visited and gave her the Barrier Sword, also asking her to keep an eye out for her boyfriend Jake, whom had went out to fight in the war.
Fire Emblem 5 and 6[edit]
Anna has no storyline role, but still appears as the host of the secret shops and also appears whenever the player chooses to suspend their game.
Fire Emblem 7[edit]
She appears in a house in "The Port of Badon" (Eliwood Chapter 16x, Hector Chapter 17x). Her boyfriend is Jake, one of Fargus's pirates. She gives Eliwood's group directions on the safest route to Fargus's ship (and meeting her also triggers Jake's cameo appearance in the following chapter).
Anna also appears as the shopkeeper in the game's secret shops. Outside of the story, she appears whenever the player chooses to suspend their game in order to confirm their choice, and she also hosts the Link Arena.
Fire Emblem 8[edit]
She once more hosts the Link Arena, secret shops and suspended game data option.
Fire Emblem 9/10[edit]
Anna appears as the host of the games' optional tutorials, as well as appearing whenever the player chooses to suspend the game.

Video Games[edit]
- In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U, one of Female Robin's alternate costumes used Anna's hair and clothing color, and a trophy of Anna from the 3DS game also appeared in he 3DS game. In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, she appears in the form of a Master Spirit in the World of Light Mode. In her Spirit battle, her Spirit possessed Lucina. After being defeated, her Spirit proceeded to run the adjacent store, Anna's Emporium.
Trivia[edit]
- She is almost always depicted with the same pose, resting her pointer finger on her face usually while smiling slyly.
- Anna appears a pegasus knight in Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn's tutorials.
