Amoonguss is a large mushroom-like Pokémon with mysterious Poké Ball-like patterns that was introduced in the fifth generation games. It is the evolved form of Foongus.
Information[edit]
Amoonguss evolves from Foongus at Level 39. Like its earlier form, it has a Poké Ball-like pattern on its cap, and it also has similar pattens on the caps which act as its arms. They dance and wave their caps with a swaying motion in order to lure in prey. However, very few Pokémon apparently fall for this tactic. Due to their appearances, both Foongus and Amoonguss appear in fields with the likeness of a Poké Ball, but with a notably different shape.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
In Pokémon: Black and White Versions, Amoonguss could be uncommonly found at Routes 10 (dark grass only) and 11 and Victory Road Gate (dark grass only). Two Amoonguss resembling items also appeared in the field at Route 10.
Other Games[edit]
In Pokémon Rumble Blast, it was found at the autumnwood areas of Volcanic Slope and Firebreathing Mountain. In PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond, Amoonguss appeared at Windmill Way in the Arbor area and could be befriended through battle after Foongus had been befriended.
Other Appearances[edit]
Other Media[edit]
- In the Pokémon anime, a pair of Amoonguss were introduced in a minor role in one episode.
- In the Pokémon Adventures manga, a sole Amoonguss was used by members of Team Plasma to knock out trainers in Castelia City so that their Pokémon could be stolen. It was also the sole defense of their base in the city and was quickly defeated by Black's Pignite.
