Aggron is a merciless streel-horned and armored Pokémon that was introduced in the third generation games. It is the third and final form in Aron's evolutionary line.
Information[edit]
Aggron evolves from Lairon at Level 42. It is known for being very protective of its environment. They claim entire mountains as their territories and mercilessly beat up anything that violates their environment. Aggron vigilantly patrol their areas at all times and if the mountain is ravaged by a landslide or fire, they will then hurl topsoil to the area and plant trees to restore the area to beauty. An Aggron also has steel horns that it uses to dig tunnels through bedrock while searching for iron to use as food. The horns grow slowly and can be examined to determine an Aggron's age. Most Aggron also bear gouges in their armor as prizes from past battles.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
Aggron has not been found in the wild and can only be obtained by evolving a Lairon.
Other Games[edit]
Aggron could only be obtained through evolution in Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams and Explorers of Time and Darkness. In Pokémon Trozei!, it could be found at Phobos Drill, Trozei Battle and Mr. Who's Den. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, it could be found in Volcano Cave. Aggron also appeared in Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs at the Sky Fortress, the Fire Temple and the Odd Temple.
Other Appearances[edit]
Other Media[edit]
- Aggron was first shown in an episode of the Pokémon anime during the Hoenn series as one of Steven Stone's Pokémon, which was able to quickly send Team Rocket blasting off again. One acted as an antagonist in a Pikachu special, where it sent a Skarmory to capture an Azumarill that could sing for him and his children. Jessie and James temporarily used an Aggron at one point in the Battle Frontier series, and Paul also used an Aggron during the Lily of the Valley Conference at the end of the Sinnoh series. They have additionally made various minor appearances, both as enraged wild Pokémon and as powerful Pokémon belonging to trainers such as Conway.
- In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Sapphire's Lairon evolved into an Aggron while training at Mirage Island near the climax of the Ruby/Sapphire arc, and she continued to use it as part of her team. Giovanni was also shown using an Aggron to pull off his capture of Deoxys in the FireRed/LeafGreen arc.
