LuigiRok 10:22 pm
I almost got conned today
For the first time ever
GORE ILLA 117 10:22 pm
Rather than being the one conning
Someone try to sell you a Magikarp?
LuigiRok 10:23 pm
No, that's what I do
Someone ordered a pizza and came to get it with a credit card
Which we don't take
So he stormed out, slammed the door, and drove away
I figured I would wait half an hour and then call to see if he was coming back
GORE ILLA 117 10:24 pm
WHAT HAPPEN
LuigiRok 10:24 pm
He called fifteen minutes later and ordered a pizza
I asked him if he was the one who had ordered earlier and he said no
Then his phone cut out and/or he hung up
And did not call again
GORE ILLA 117 10:25 pm
Wow
LuigiRok 10:26 pm
I assume he went and got money, but didn't want to come back for a slightly older pizza
And figured we didn't have Caller ID
GORE ILLA 117 10:26 pm
lol
GORE ILLA 117 10:26 pm
What year does he think this is
LuigiRok 10:27 pm
1929
Well, we don't take credit card so we must be technologically stunted in all areas
GORE ILLA 117 10:27 pm
And ugl
LuigiRok 10:27 pm
Stunted in the attractive area, yes
And now to "Stupid Chat" this conversation
LuigiRok 10:28 pm
Saving me the trouble of making an individual post
GORE ILLA 117 10:29 pm
Your laziness will cause your death one day

That's our boy. Mama Luigi ain't raise no fool. Granted, this guy wasn't exactly Professor Moriarty, but still. What did you do with the pizza? Eat it? Was it any good?

...you don't take credit cards? What is this, 1927? I can't come up there now as I haven't any money in my pockets.

I hardly ever do business if the place doesn't take a credit card. Too inconvenient to carry around cash.

Well, that about does it, then. You're gonna lose your pizzeria by the end of the year, Luiigii :/ Seriously, though, accepting credit cards can be okay if you decide to do that. One time a guy came by my parents' shave ice hut they run in the summer and asked me if we were interested and how they offered protection to businesses who take credit cards by like... promising to beat people up who rip you off or something, I don't remember.

I'm the opposite, Vorp. I don't feel comfortable unless I have at least $100 on me at all times.

We did try to set up a credit card system and bought ridiculously expensive computers to do so. We couldn't at first because we didn't have access to high speed internet. By the time a local company did start offering it and we got out of our then current contract to go with these guys, a year had passed and the people we bought the computers from had been bought out by a larger company. They now expect us to pay $50 a month or $200 per service call, and have only answered the phone twice in the hundred(s?) of times we have tried calling them. Both of those times they answered we had more pressing situations to deal with, like the fact that the database had been corrupted or the computer wouldn't close out the money drawer. We're also being charged a service fee by the bank for the ability to take credit cards, even though we don't yet. So really, I hate credit cards now more than I ever have before.

I didn't eat the pizza, but some employees did.

It's a Latin family motto.

Yeah, I'm with Luigi, in that I don't feel comfortable unless I have at least $20 bucks on me. Which, ironically, is BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE LUIGI.

Just kiddin' man.

Ditto, I think having at least 20 bucks on you is different from having at least 100 bucks on you.

Yeah. Having a hundred bucks on you makes being mugged a lot more exciting.

It also reminds me that I'm not a hobo.

Oh, I'm certain credit cards are a huge hassle and a huge cost for businesses. I've heard such horror stories similar to yours, Weege.

I still prefer plastic. I rarely have money in my wallet. (Well... that's not true. I always have five bucks hidden behind my driver's license in case someone asks me for money, that can at least buy them a meal at McDonalds or something.) But other than that, I only have cash when I go to the barber (cause they don't take cards, but I appreciate the atmosphere of the place... old men complaining about politics) and when I go on a road trip, cause you never know if you'll run into a small gas station or something that won't take a card. Those are really the only two times I have cash.

I don't use credit cards. I pay for everything I'm able to in cash.

I can't believe you have to pay credit card companies to accept credit cards...

I wanna go visit Vorpal's town, or as I like to think of it, "The Vorpal Griffith Show." Please, complete my fantasy of the place. Please tell me it has a 'fishin' hole.'

Really, I learned you just never know when you may need some cash. Also, three quarters, two dimes, a nickel and five pennies, so you can make any change.
