I don't think anyone will change their opinion about the forum (except maybe you? who cares), but at least in those rare instances we do have activity, I can read it without rolling my eyes. I consider that a gain.

First of all, that was unnecessary and hurt my feelings.

Second, I would argue that people are changing their opinion of the forum by virtue of the fact that they frequent it less and less. I don't see what your definition of a change in opinion is if that doesn't make sense.

I think you greatly misinterpreted the things Phil was saying. For instance, he wasn't serious about the things he was saying. If people weren't so fast to respond negatively I don't think things would get out of hand the way they do. But when everyone in every thread acts like a jerk, I don't get what you expect. I don't believe you are under the impression that literally everything has been Phil's fault.

You can argue that you didn't find his topics and threads funny, but that warrants mere apathy instead. Again, for a forum with such little activity a few threads that don't interest you shouldn't be a problem. The fact that every thread has to fit into a select group's esoteric sense of humor is exactly why a) no one new hardly ever joins and b) no one who is a regular member posts with any frequency.

If the point of this forum is to have complete control over content then I think you're not understanding what a forum is. I mean hell, wouldn't it make more sense to talk on facebook or just close registration instead? Why bother maintaining a site that's at best a sewing circle and at worst a circle jerk?

Read the topic again: It started with Phil snarking over canon obsessions, which is fine. Vorpal responded with ironic snark about Phil's topic. Also fine.

Then Phil responded with this: It wouldn't be pointless if you felt inclined to give a genuine answer instead of trying to prove your intellectual superiority with such a witless comment. But please, feel free to change the title again so that the thread can suit the needs of your sheltered and childish worldview.

And then he kept it up. That's what got him his throat cut, and rightfully so. The recurring theme with Phil was that he seemed to think free speech on a forum meant he could say nasty stuff to people anonymously and hurl nastiness around about what other people thought. Then groused when people responded to him.

What is this, 4Chan? Screw that. Nobody here should have to just liv with that for the sake of having activity on the forums.

That was when the line was crossed, and everyone here knows it, including you, so don't pretend like there was no difference between him and anybody else.

There are forums on the internet where you can talk like you're in a god-darn MMORPG, and this isn't one of them. You can snark about stuff all you want, that can be fun and entertaining, but we show respect to our members. Except WarioFan. And that's only cuz we know him beyond the forums.

I honestly thought that Phil's original Kirby Epic Yarn canon post was funny, and I was adding my own spin to it. My responses even after he changed the topic and started complaining were good-natured and not intended to demean Phil, but to play along. I thought it was the funniest thing I'd seen happen on these forums in a long time.

Then came this thread. I honestly cannot think of any reason why he responded so negatively other than that he's just "baiting" (and minor corrections to spelling on an internet message board as a means to show some higher intellect is childish). And his reactions only proved as much.

This thread was just messing around (so was the deletion of the OP of the other thread and the Kirby canon stuff), all the posts in the thread were a joke, you guys are too sensitive, that's always been an issue I liked to push. Like my now famous "nigger" thread. I don't see how you didn't understand that, considering my history as a poster. I mean come on guys I don't even talk like that. And the spelling correction really gave it away. It wasn't "baiting", it was just entertaining bickering. You guys draw an arbitrary line in the sand somewhere about where my mother would get offended and I think that's just silly.

Anyway, the only person I actually hate on here is Nintenfreak and my crack at him was not a joke. He is a confirmed (by way of Golem) furry and generally a really creepy guy. I don't think anyone here likes him. Hell, I doubt anyone anywhere likes him based on the way he acts. Eh and Ditto's a little off too.

I think what you all don't understand about Phil is that he's actually a very sensitive person. He is more sensitive that many people, including myself.

And what you don't understand about Vorpal is that I'm older and more senile than most people, including myself.
