Oh look a Pikmin idea. Shock, awe, copying my notes now:
Parasite Pikmin*Found by throwing Pikmin into grey Candypop Buds, probably a limit of 10 can be carried. After plucking, they are carried by Olimar. Press Z to pull one out and hold it, or Z again to put it away.
*Throw with A. The parasite will drill down onto the target or into the ground if the target is missed, where it can be replucked.
*When the parasite connects with an enemy, it will take control and turn that creature into a temporary leader that can be switched to. Whistling to Pikmin will make them mount the infected enemy, after which pressing A will cause them to jump off as if thrown. Pressing Z as the infected enemy will cause it to perform a unique action.
*An infected enemy will have a timer similar to their damage meter, which decreases faster when damage is taken. When the timer runs out or Z is pressed as Olimar, the enemy spawns up to 10 juveniles and becomes wild. Killing it will get the juveniles to join you; as in Pikmin 2, they are immune to elements, but remain in caves or will leave at night if above ground.
It's just an idea I've had in my head for a while and I wanted to get out. I went further with it, listing the kinds of enemies that could be affected, how many Pikmin they could carry, what their abilities would be, but I'll just suggest a Snitchmin that could fly 10 Pikmin around or Hogmin that could breathe fire, water, etc. on obstacles.
