Commanding Officers (COs)

Western Alliance (Western Frontier, Anglo Isles and Xylvania)

President Austin - The newly-elected President of the Western Frontier. A stolid, level-headed statesman and able diplomat, he and his wife, Tundran-born First Lady Nelly seek peace with the Tundran Territories. He's equally determined to protect all freedom-loving people from Ironov's Winter Revolution.

General Herman - Known as "Coach" to his troops, Herman is the beloved supreme commander of the Frontier forces. In denial about his age, he intends to prove he's just as tough and spry as ever, willing to get into any conflict.

Brigadier Betty - Now moving up to take over most of the Frontier's commanding forces for General Herman, with the personality of a gym instructor. Rumors hint she was hit on a personal level by the loss of Marshal Nova, she's as gung-ho as ever, eager to put the hurt on Premier Ironov and his followers.

Colonel Windsor - Patriotic servant of the Anglo Isles and former commander of Her Majesty's Fifth Brigadiers. Due to a previous "incident in judgement" he has been semi-retired and assigned garrison duty at a remote Xylvanian outpost. His devotion to the crown is matched only by his love of a rollicking good scuffle. He loves the rugged outdoors, the hot sun, and fears no living thing.

Captain Pierce - Ace fighter pilot from the Anglo Isles. Fought alongside Colonel Windsor in the last war. Gentle-natured and chivalrous, he's also against the Anglo-Dunistani territorial dispute, but determined to uphold the Islands' honor and the honor of the Western Alliance.

Empress Lei-Qo - the hereditary ruler of the Solar Empire and commander of their forces, as well as a brilliant scientist. Extending the hand of friendship to Xylvania, she personally helped develop Cold Fusion technology. She's as

Professor Fran - Former head of Kaiser Vlad's Research and Development wing, this eccentric scientist has since filled the vacuum of power left in Xylvania since the Kaiser's fall. She has pledged co-operation with the Alliance of Nations and as a token of trust, has worked with Lei-Qo to combine Xylvanian and Solar technologies to create Cold Fusion, a mysterious but seemingly unlimited power source. She seems in earnest but some still wonder if Xylvania can ever be truly peaceful...

Eastern Empire: (New Tundra, Dunistan, Solar Empire)

Marshal Nova - Hereditary ruler of the old Tundran monarchy and advocate of reform and openness with the West. Recently deposed by his top general in a coup, he and his last remaining followers fled into the icy Tundran wilderness. His current whereabouts are unknown and is presumed dead.

Premier Ironov - The ambitious and proud leader of New Tundra, who led the Winter Revolution that deposed the old regime. Jealous of the Western Frontier, his desire is to raise the New Tundra to the level of world's uncontested superpower. With his acquisition of cold fusion technology, he has amassed a massive war machine and assembled a cadre of allies to his cause.

Comissar Mischa - Wife of the Tundran Premier and the head of SCYTHE, New Tundra's massive secret intelligence agency. It was she who is believed to be responsible for the theft of the secrets of cold fusion. A lover of glamour and the high life, she is also a master of espionage. Her skill in finding out the secrets of the west is uncanny.

Chairman Qong-Sik - Wealthy president of the E-Qlipse media empire and lover of bad cinema, this megalomaniacal mogul seeks the Empress' throne for himself. Using his media clout to spread propaganda he has already brought half of the Coral Atolls under his control and has plunged the Empire into Civil War. Already formulating a plan to bring the rest of the Atolls under his control, the "Dear Leader" has already set up giant cameras and towers to capture his glorious uprising and broadcast his revolution to the world!

Caliph Mamek - Pompous and self-righteous, the ancient sultan of the wealthy Dune Sea nation of Dunistan. He is outraged when the Alliance of Nations assigns the Anglo Isles to protect some territory that was once the subject of an ancient Anglo-Dunistan dispute. His alliance with the warmongering Premier Ironov may not be such a wise move, however.

Emir Emeradu - Young, bright commander of Dunistan's defense forces. Earning her title through heredity, she's eager to prove her merit to her people, but questions the wisdom of the renewed Anglo-Dunistan dispute, as well as their alliance with the New Tundra.

Storyline and Campaigns:

Intro - The Iron Curtain... an impenatrable wall separating the Western Frontier from the Tundran Territories.

A few years ago, these two rivals put their differences aside to foil an attempt at world domination. Shortly thereafter, however, Marshal Nova, Tundra's progressive ruler, was overthrown in a sudden coup, and replaced by the hard-line regime of Premier Ironov. Now, as the Western Frontier welcomes it's newly-elected President Austin and his First Lady Nelly, these old hostities between these two powers once again give rise to war.

Meanwhile, in the ruins of Kaiser Vlad's disastrous regime, a new leader has arisen to reign in the chaos and confusion in Xylvania.

Intro Mission
Professor Fran deploys a prototype Super Soldier to clean up an Xylvanian village. Player learns how to use basic controls during this mission. At the end, the Super Soldier runs out of power and becomes defunct, and she hides it from the world.

In a gesture of good will, Professor Fran and Empress Lei-Qo collaborate to develop a new power source: Cold Fusion.

Campaign 1: Solar Civil War
Half of the Coral Atolls are under the control of a megalomaniacal media mogul, Chairman Qong. Now, having usurped the Empire's weapons systems, he's attemping to seize the other half. The Western Frontier intervenes.

After the campaign, Tundran forces arrive to reinforce Chairman Qong's, armed with Cold Fusion technology. President Austin forces General Herman to withdraw. Brigadier Betty is shot down in enemy territory helping Lei-Qo escape as the Solar Empire falls to Qong's forces.

Campaign 2: Anglo Territorial Dispute
The Anglo Isles are embroiled again in an age-old feud over territory with their ancient rival, Dunistan. Pierce and Windsor exchange endless blows with the Caliph and the Emir of Dunistan.

The Campaign ends when Ironov, frustrated with Dunistan's failures to capture the territory, and needing Necrocite to process Cold Fusion, suddenly invades Dunistan.

Campaign 3: The Dunistan Occupation
Tundran forces have invaded Dunistan. The Emir leads the struggle to expel Tundra's forces from Dunistan and defeat the Ayatollah.

The Campaign ends when the Emir, along with Captain Pierce, joining forces to liberate Dunistan.

Campaign 4: The Frontier Siege
Tundran forces are massed along the Frontier border and Solar forces block the sea, cutting the Frontier off from the rest of the world, and the two are working together to set up Fusion bombs off the Frontier coast. The Frontier must fight both armies and try to set them against each other.

The campaign ends when Frontier and Solar forces (back under Lei-Qo's control) defeat the giant radioactive Chairman Qong monster and break the seige.

Campaign 5: The Tundran Revolution
Marshal Nova and Brigadier Betty return from captivity reporting that Tundra plans to launch a space station armed with Cold Fusion weapons pointed at the world.

The campaign ends when allied forces subdue the Space Station. Premier Ironov and Mischa are defeated and Marshal Nova regains control of Tundra. In the ending: General Herman becomes the first man on the moon.

Secret Campaign: Xylvanian Purge
Kaiser Vlad and Ubel emerge from their ice cave and seize Tundran Cold Fusion materials with plans to build a bomb. Series of super-difficult master-level missions. Campaign unlocked when S-Ranks achieved in other missions.

Here's some Mission ideas

Intro Mission: You control a lone super-soldier (who looks like an Iron Legion soldier) as Professor Fran shouts instructions on how to move, point and shoot, aim, roll, jump, etc. You start out in the courtyard of a castle (like Dr. Frankenstein's), and shoot down the door. You move your soldier into a village and shoot down Xylvanian grunts who are "raiding" the villagers. You also learn not to shoot civilians, perhaps. Your trail of disaster takes you through destroying tanks, gunships, and other vets. Maybe at times you also seize control of tanks and recons to give some experience driving vehicles. When you've done everything, the soldier runs out of "juice" and collapses.

Recon Race - A possible mutlipalyer mission: Up to four players race recons through a dangerous track with hairpin turns, crazy jumps, enemy Bazooka Vets, Tanks, Gunships, RPG Towers... at the end you liberate some of your own vets and send them to raise a flag. First one up is the winner.

Solar E-Qlipse - Early bomber mission. You use some fighter planes to shoot down enemy gunships, then use some tanks to take out anti-air guns, then do a bombing run across a huge jungle knocking out Chairman Qong's Broadcast Towers and giant Cameras.

Hunt for the Red Octopus - Naval battle. You're given control of a Dreadnought, some subs, and a frigate. You're put up against a Tundran fleet, complete with a giant enemy submarine, The Red Octopus. You have to sink the fleet and in particular the Octopus. You may have to protect a giant Aircraft Carrier from being sunk by the Octopus.

Qongzilla - A nuclear blast has mutated Chairman Qong into a gigantic Godzilla-like monster! He stomps through a city while you use Solar tanks and planes to whittle down his health and drive him out to the ocean. On the ocean, Frontier battleships and dreadnoughts try to finish him off. All the while he's being protected by Tundran planes and tanks and ships, trying to destroy your stuff.

The Great Escape - Some of your forces in a giant Tundran prison camp have staged an uprising. Lead your tiny forces through the compound, liberating other troops and making for the gate, then across the snowfields filled with enemy units, trying for the safety of the forest.
