Reading through the comments, there's two I've noticed. Either it's 'cause Konami doesn't like SEGA or because hedgehogs naturally eat snakes.

And more still. I saw one a few days ago that said in Japan, the father of the Voice Actor for Snake is the Voice Actor for Eggman. Although I guess that ones a little too light.

I've been having trouble getting them... most of the time I try up and down on the d-pad, Snake does his taunt... I've gotten it to finally come up a couple times, but I can't seem to figure out exactly what I did to make it work.....

I had the same problem with the Star Fox transmissions in Melee. I still can't do them quite right.

Also, I take it you have to be in the Shadow Moses Island stage for it to work?

Yes, you have to be in Shadow Moses with Snake, or whatever they call the Star Fox Stage with Fox, Falco or Wolf. The original convos from Melee Corneria are also available to Fox and Falco, still.

Oh, so then it's like Samus's suit change; you have to do it really fast and it might not always work.

I just got it to appear during an online match...but I have no idea how. I tried it again after that but no such luck. Man, the Luigi conversation is awesome.

I think it actually is 'Up Down Up'.
