This will be like an OG, except it will be modeled after a stereotypical forum RP. So everyone rummage through your grandfather’s closet, pop in some Linkin Park, and get your angst on. Good writing need appear.

Clarification: When I say the writing doesn't have to be good, I mean that the plot/characters/situations can be incredibly lame. This is not meant to imply that off-topic, out of character posts should fill this OG. Also, paragraphs are a must and turn the damn capslock off.

Starting Characters (feel free to add more as the story requires)

High Rord Evirpantsu:

His mother never hugged him as a child, so he murdered her the day he first held a sword. While the details of his youth are locked (and the key has been melted down and turned into a key for a completely different lock) in the shadows of the past, we know that he now rules the country of N’rebnia. His citizens hate him, but fear him more. It is rumored that he is currently building a device that turns souls into caviar. Wielder of the Katana of Hell.

Laura (Raurichiko):

One fateful day when she was six, her father told her she could never be a samurai warrior. That same day, she ran away from home. After spending a year surviving alone on the mountains, she met a ronin, whom she refers to as Sensei (his name is not yet revealed). Sensei taught her the art of the sword and molded her into a warrior. She left his tutelage and now searches for a master of her own. In her travels, she came across a mysterious cave, and an old man endowed her with the Katana of X’andurel. The sword is cursed, but the extent of the curse remains a mystery.

ANGSTY GOERS:
THE RP OG

Laura walked through the mountainside, their peacefulness in sharp contrast to her angst, and their loneliness the same as hers. She remembered that fateful day long ago when her father told her she would never be a samurai and shed a tear. It froze before it hit the ground and shattered on the frigid rocks.

She gazed at her sword....The Katana of X'andurel and wished with all her heart that she had never accepted it from the old man in the cave. If she had known the price it would take on her soul...
But there was no time to reminisce. Thirty-seven ninjas were about to ambush her. Or they thought they were.

The sword, evil as it may be, always warned her when danger was near. Between that and her samurai training, she could never be caught off guard. The ninja would fight without honor--cheaters and decievers all. But against her, they needed every advantage they could get--not that it would do her any good. It was as if she and the katana were locked in a furious dance, and she could never tell who was leading. Blood splattered on teh snowy ground, but she did not notice it; she was too enraptured in the fight. When it was over, all the ninjas lay dead, surrounded by blood and gore.

When the rush of battle finally left her, she was overtaken by loneliness and tension. Angstily, she examined the bodies of her attackers. They were wearing the sign of Lord Evirpantsu. Just as she had suspected…

GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE MY PARENTS. THEY TOLD ME TO CLEAN MY ROOM, AND I WAS ALL NUH HUH. AND THEN THEY SENT ME TO MY ROOM WITHOUT MY CELLPHONE. JESUS IT WAS LIKE THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT'S CRAWLING IN MY SKIN. THEY MUST HAVE BEEN MADE BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO BE A TEENAGER THESE DAYS. THEN THEY ALSO PUNISHED ME BECAUSE I GOT AN R IN ALGEBRA. WHEN AM I GOING TO USE THAT? WOWING MY FRIENDS WITH USELESS KNOWLEDGE AIN'T ME MAN, I WANT TO SHOW THEM HOW COOL I AM BY DOING RETARDEDLY STUPID THINGS LIKE SHOOTING MYSELF IN THE FOOT WITH A SHOTGUN JUST TO WATCH MYSELF BLEED.

(Psh, Evanescence makes much better angsty listening music... XP)

Rising, Laura let out a sigh and took yet another weary step forward, sandals crunching in the snow. She walked onward through the lonely terrain for a while, passing nothing but rocks, snowdrifts, and the occasional shrivelled up evergreen. Nothing ever seemed to grow here...as if the very land itself was under some sort of curse. Laura paused, gazing up at the grey overcast sky. Where was she going? She didn't even know anymore. Every day was spent drifting from place to place with no real goal in mind, all by herself...a depressing and lonely existence, but existence just the same. The question was, was such an existence really worth it? Laura eyed the katana hanging by her side, and sighed. There was no use in asking such questions, as it didn't make any difference. The sword would not let her end her pain, as great as it was. It needed her. It fed off of her angst, causing it to grow more powerful, and the vast amounts of angst she produced made her the perfect host.

She stopped, suddenly, frozen and erect. She had heard something...footsteps from around the bend up ahead. Yet her sword didn't give any sort of warning, which had never happened before...did this mean that she wasn't actually in any danger from another human being? Was such a thing possible? She waited tensely, grey eyes wary and untrusting, waiting for the approaching being to reveal itself. Hopefully this wouldn't end in more angst...

FREEEEEEED! I WAS POSTING! GOD!

---

Laura stood tense, watching the bend. The footsteps continued; she drew back in a basic stance, unsure how to respond. Why was she defending herself, though? It would be a mercy to let this thing destroy her, and her sword too. But when she tried to relax herself, she found that she couldn't move.

The frost had seemingly ripped itself from the very ground and encased her in a layer so fine it was clearer than glass. She struggled, but the frost did not relent its grip. The footsteps grew louder still; they were certainly human, but still her katana told her nothing. She couldn't move, and now she was going numb. The icy grasp of the frost was second only to the cold grip of the X'andurel on her heart.

She waited. And waited. And when the waiting had gone on so long that she felt like crying, a man came around the bend. His beard was brown and short, though the rest of his hair was long. He wore a long-brimmed hat and a long coat, with no shirt, and loose pants. His feet were bare.

"What are you doing in my house?" he said.

Laura would have said something about the lack of a doorframe to tell her it was a house and her angst, but her mouth was frozen shut. The man waited for her to reply. Laura couldn't stand the waiting anymore.

"I'll tell you what you're doing in my house," he continued, as if he had never even stopped. "You, like the millions of other idiots in this world, think that you can just charge up a mountainside whenever you want to, and that it's not someone's house. Well, this one is. And I really wish you would all just stop. Stupid humans. And who's going to clean up all those dead bodies down there? I can't stand the sight of blood, you know. I can spill blood from my enemies just fine, but when I have to stop and actually look at it... Ugh. I unfroze your lips. You should cut me off any time now."

"Oh," Laura said. "I was going to say that a lack of doors makes it hard to tell this is a house."

"That doesn't mean you shouldn't know. I hate humans..."

"But you are one?"

"Yeah. So?"

Laura sneered. This was just what she needed. "Only a mystic could be so arrogant. You are a winter mystic?"

"No."

"But you froze me."

"So?"

Laura sighed deeply. "He goes from ranting one minute to one-word answers the next," she thought. "This is so not what I need right now."

"I control the desolate ice of winter, yes. But I also control the life-giving essence of spring, the blazing heat of summer, and the crisp wind of autumn. I am not a winter mystic. Or a spring mystic. Or a summer mystic. Or an autumn mystic. I am a seasoncer. And then some."

"There is no such thing."

The man shrugged. "You've overstayed your welcome."

A suddenly violent gust of wind knocked the frozen Laura on to her side, then rolled her toward the edge of the mountain trail. At the bottom was no doubt a very long drop.

But then, in a flash the frost melted away, drenching her and giving her horrible chills, but also giving her the chance to fight against the gale. The man watched as she got to her feet, hunching against the wind, then sprung at him. Moments before she reached him, a slab of the mountain rose from the trail before her, and she slammed face-first into it, sprawling on the ground. Her katana tried to keep her conscious, but a moment later the slab fell on top of her, and she saw no more.

She did hear, "My name is Aaron, by the way," though.

ADMIN MAN: Just because this OG is making fun of RPs doesn't mean we're making fun of lamer speak (save that for something else). Follow the format the first post started out with or don't post in the OG.

OoC: Sort of a double post, but recent non-story events needed... closure, I suppose.

---

A drop of water touched her face and immediately disappeared, spreading across the myriad pores of her cheeks in an instant with only the slightest residue to imply its existence. Laura opened her eyes and saw her clothes hanging above her, dripping wet. A fire crackled nearby, a bit too close for comfort. She sat up and found herself wrapped in several blankets. A light came to her eyes, and she looked to her hand... but no, the katana was still there. She put aside the blankets and stood, feeling slightly embarrassed in her bodice, and checked the dampness of her apparel. Still too wet.

A quick look around told her that she was still on the mountainside; not a cave or anything, just right on the mountain. Looking up, she was surprised at how close to the summit she was, despite the lack of snow. In fact, she still couldn't see snow, no matter how high up she looked.

Hearing the patter of footsteps, Laura turned, expecting the man from before to appear again. She lunged at the sound, hoping to eviscerate him before he could react, but instead found nothing.

"You've got a fever," a voice said behind her. "You're not hearing straight."

Laura turned back around and found the man watching her. "Thanks to you."

He shrugged and picked up the blankets, then continued toward her. "You were trespassing. I don't like trespassers." He handed her the blankets. "Lie down by the fire some more."

"So you can roll me in while I sleep? That may be what I really want, but that's not what I'm going to let you do."

"Fine." He sat down by the fire himself. A yellow flower appeared next to him; he pulled a cup-like object from it and started sipping. Another yellow flower grew up to Laura's eye level, but she spit at it. The man snorted. "Rude."

After about fifteen minutes of offering and rejecting, Laura sat down by the fire across from the man. Another fifteen minutes of pretending she wasn't really there, and she couldn't take it any longer. "Who are you, anyway?" she asked, turning to face him.

"I told you, I'm Aaron. I live on this mountain."

"Yes, I know." Stupid men... if only her Sensei were here... "I mean, do you really control all of the elements of magic?"

"The important ones."

"But how? Men study their entire lives and don't get half as good as you seem to be in ONE of the elements. You're not even that old."

"What? Are you saying I couldn't do this on my own?"

"Well, yeah."

Aaron turned away. "Well, that's just nice. Real polite."

Laura sighed. How she hated having to deal with people like this. "Okay then. My sword here? It lets me sense my surroundings."

Aaron turned back, slightly. "How?"

"Well... I don't know. But for some reason, it doesn't sense you."

"Is your sword cursed or something?"

"N-no! It's not cursed!" Laura panicked and quickly changed the subject with, "Are YOU cursed?"

"N-no." Aaron stood up suddenly, looking as panicky as she felt. "I just remembered, I've got a... meeting. Um, yeah."

"With who?"

"Just some... guy. So to speak." He stood and started up the trail.

Laura sighed and wrapped herself tighter in the blankets. She sighed louder. Then a little louder than that. If only her sword weren't cursed...

Aaron drifted through the snow like a snowdrift as the pain inside his head grew. This is how his master summoned him. It made him want to cry and vomit and write bad poetry all at the same time.

By the time he reached the old, dark clearing filled with statues of monsters carved out of tree-stumps, he could barely walk. He collapsed into his chair, also carved out of a tree-stump, and waited. The pain subsided a bit. But which of the forms would his master take today? The minotaur? The gargoyle? The tombstone? Or one of the many other statues surrounding him. His eyes darted from one monstrous form to another, fearful in anticipation. In this clearing was a magic he could never master, and it put him on edge to feel so powerless.

It was the Hydra. He noticed one of the seven heads begin to sway. Then another, then another. Then another and another and another. And finally, the last one. The seventh head began to move about. The wood was coming alive, and its fearsome talons pulled itself from what was now a wooden pedestal. It lumbered toward him, each of the fourteen eyes focused on his very soul.

“You are late,” the hydra said.

“Lord Evirpantsu! I did not mean to be! The girl!”

“The girl should be dead!”

“I couldn’t…she…” he stammered in the face of the only fear he knew.

“She carries something I want. The Katana of X’andurel. I will have it, Aaron, whether by you or your replacement.”

“Take my power back then. If I had known the price…”

“No.” the Hydra’s reptilian lips formed into a smile. “You don’t mean that at all. Your power is as valuable to you as your life, and they are one. I saved your life and gave you more magic than you could dream of, and all I ask for is one little sword.”

“You have twelve by my last count, Lord Evirpantsu,” Aaron said. Twelve lives. Twelve chosen warriors defeated by a man who had cheated fate and nature to be what he is. And he would have killed more than just chosen warriors with cursed swords if he hadn’t confined himself to a mountain. Every time Lord Evirpantsu wanted a possession of another person, he would force Aaron to get it for him. That was the cost of his powers. That was his curse.

But not this time. His suddenly developed sense of morality made him want to defy his master once and for all. If it meant death, then at least he would die with honor and a clean conscience.

“And is not thirteen the greatest number of them all?” Lord Evirpantsu asked. “Get me the Katana of X'andurel, or you will die.”

“So be it,” said Aaron, trying to hide his emotions. He had to make sure Lord Evirpantsu detected no deception. He had to play the role of a servant until he could finally learn where Lord Evirpantsu slept and lay him to rest. He wouldn’t be the executioner for the Dark Lord of N’rebnia any longer.

The Hyrda turned back into a wooden statue and Aaron stood up from his chair. He clenched the medallion that hung from his neck, bearing the symbol of Lord Evirpantsu. It marked him as a slave. He pulled on it, trying to rip it from his body, but the magic, like always, prevented him from doing so. He could just as easily pull his heart from his chest, for they were linked.

“Someday,” he thought. “Someday I will remove this medallion and be my own man yet again. And I can finally go home to my only childhood friends, my dogs Rover and Bowser.” And he prayed that they still remembered him.

If ever there was a knight more cursed than Bhoo Hoohoohoo, then that knight was probably just making it up. Bhoo was such a cursed knight, that other curses ran away in fear. He was a knight of knights. Those knights being the knight of night. So he was a night knight of knights. But althought he was a night knight of knights, his armor was forest green. That was part of his curse. So was his his good looks. His face looked like it had been carved by angels. That was because it had been carved by angels.

He made a deal with an ancient fortune teller one time. He wantd to become the greatest knight in the world. He had become that knight. But it had cost him everything he loved. In fact it cost him the very ability to love. Everything that was unknightly about him was stripped away. As such his dearest love was killed. His average appearance was made beautiful. His armor was made sparkling green to reflect the beauty of the Earth he protected. His kingdom was brought to ruin as a result, for his domain was the Earth and no mortal kingdom.

He looked up the snowy mountain knowing that he had to cross it. That was his fate and duty. His fate and duty was all he had. Well, he had angst too. Lots of angst. But he could not love again, never again. The fortune teller had made sure of that. And he could never remove his armor either, for if he did, the world itself would crumble into dust. And so he took the first step up the mountain, hoping it would not involve meeting a seasoncer and a female samurai.

Aaron returned with his usual loud footsteps. Laura looked up at his hairy face, his sculpted torso... for a moment she thought she saw a glint of metal, but it disappeared without a trace. Laura shrugged and continued warming herself.

"I want to show you something," he said.

"I don't want to see it. I'm very busy brooding."

"Come along anyway."

"I'm still indecent."

"So?"

Laura sighed and got to her feet. "Fine."

Aaron turned and led the way up the mountain trail. It wound around and around the mountain, then around and around some more. Still there was no snow on the ground, despite the chill that her angst brought to the entire setting. Somewhere near the top, the path diverged. Aaron very deliberately turned away from the one path, giving Laura pause. The katana of X'andurel seemed to quiver as she looked down the rejected way, as if its rejection reminded her of her own past rejection. She started down it.

Aaron cuffed her quite sharply over the head. "Do not EVER go that way!" he shouted.

"Fine..." she grumbled.

A little bit further, and they came to the end of the trail, which was also a door in the side of the mountain. Aaron glared at the door for a moment, then ran at it screaming and flailing with his fists, shouting obscenities like, "I hate you!" and, "My life sucks!" and, "I wanted a pony for Christmas!" Finally, the Door of Much Angstia opened before him, and they continued into the mountain.

It was completely hollow inside, with only a narrow path along the "wall" of the mountain. They walked across this path, which wound and wound throughout the inside of the mountain, before coming to another door. At this door, Aaron took out a writing utensil and scribbled some words, which said, "Feberday 14. My life sucks. No one reads this door anyway. Why do I bother?" With that, the Door of Much More Angstia opened before him, and they walked back outside of the mountain, where the path continued as if it hadn't ended.

And then they were at the top of the mountain. Laura looked around, seeing the cave where she had received the Katana of X'andurel, but not her hometown, or her Sensei's home. It brought her much angst. The stars twinkled in the night sky, like drops of ice on a dark and brooding soul.

Aaron turned around, grabbed Laura firmly by the waist, and kissed her. Laura backed away, sputtering. "What are you doing?!" she shrieked.

"It's Feberday 14!" Aaron said. "The Day of Love and Such! You don't know that?"

"But I don't love you!"

"I saved your life!"

"You disgust me!" Laura turned and ran back down the trail.

Aaron watched her go, then slumped to his knees. "NOBODY LOVES ME!" he screamed to the stars. After much stomping and crying, he fell on his back and just looked at the stars. "Maybe I will give her to Rord Evirpantsu," he sighed. "She deserves it now." A shooting star flew past, reminding him of the darkest moment of his life...

***

Laura ran down the path, bursting through the Doors of Much Angstia and Much More Angstia with a flick of her katana. The kiss was still on her mind, as it lingered across her dry lips. She had enjoyed it, but she could not love. Ever. And Aaron was a jerk anyway. How dare he try to be angstier than her?

Laura ran past the campfire, grabbing her still wet clothes in a flash, and tugging them on as she continued past the slain bodies from before. She was running so fast that she didn't see the giant green rock in front of her until she had dashed herself upon it and fallen on her back.

"Oh dear," the rock said. "A damsel has injured herself upon me. I must help her while feeling absolutely no attachment." The rock reached out with a rocky arm and helped her up. Only the rock was a knight with a face carved by angels. Laura's heart skipped.

The knight stood back and examined Laura. "Oh dear. I had hoped this wouldn't happen."

"What?" Laura asked.

"I was hoping to not run into a female samurai, secure in the reasoning that they don't exist. But now they do exist. My world has been turned upside-down, as it always is." He sighed deeply. "Is there a seasoncer with you?"

"No."

"Good."

"He's at the summit."

"Damn it all..."

"But enough about him." Laura blushed. "Let's talk about you."

"No no, I simply must be going. It is my duty. It is my curse." He sighed again and started up the trail.
