So I just got bit by the flash bug again. Here's my basic idea, and what I'm working on so far:

Party Goers/Gamehiker flash-

A flash of random scenes that moderately follows a song. I've got about a jillion different scenes in my head at the moment, and I'd prefer to keep them in my head, so I can have a bit of surprise until it comes out. But I believe this would be the easiest way to cram all our characters into an entire flash. I'll try not to focus on any one particular character too long.

But, in order to do this, I'm trying to simplify the characters so that I can easily animate them with a mouse (the easiest way I think I'll be able to do this flash and get the results I want)

Because of my work with the comic, I'm fairly familiar with most everyone's charcters. It is, however, the characters that appear mainly in the spinoffs and MOG that I'm not familiar with appearances

So, Lupus, Fred if you could give me descriptions of what your characters look like, it would be appreciated. Also, any side characters that anybody thinks would be important or cool to add, please let me know.

My other current need is finding that particular song. I'm not concerned with whether it has lyrics or not. Preferrably if there are lyrics they should either somehow go along with Party Goers somehow (even if just a little) or they should be foreign, so that nobody knows what's really being said. The music needs to have some sort of epic/fantasy flair to it, or maybe a dream-like quality to it. Can't be too hard or too soft, and preferably something that has different moods within the same song, so that I can very the kinds of scenes that appear in the flash, and have them go along with the mood of the song.

If that was confusing, I'm sorry. I'm just looking for something that would go as good background music in a flash animation. If anybody knows of a song that they think might fit, please let me know, and preferably if you have the mp3, e-mail it to me (I got the space in my account).

The current song that's on the top of my list right now is Must Be Dreaming by Frou Frou... but it's a little too soft for what I want... and it repeats itself one too many times.

It's funny, Vorpal. I used to fantasize about just such a Party Goers montage, set to music, years ago. I had exactly the song for just such a purpose, as well.

The unfortunate part is that it was on my old computer, which was so dated there was no way for me to transfer my songs off of it.

I'm going to try to find it again, but I got it back in the days when internet music was free and plentiful, and you could find anything. The chances are slim.

It was an orchestrated rendition of a Nobuo Uematsu piece, not sure which game. It had Japanese lyrics. If I recall the title, I'll post it to help in the search, but it's precisely what you need.

(Ditto and I discussed this over IM... so those reading won't be confused)

I listened to it... it's nice... but I've got action scenes in mind that just don't fit that particular track....

I need something that's fast in some places and slow in other places... or at least... that would be the ideal song.

Double Post! OMG!

Those pictures help, Weege, but I still would like colors/written descriptions.

Okay I've got a few different songs now, I'm going to figure our how to host them so you guys can put in your individual input:

Must Be Dreaming by Frou Frou
The Impression That I Get by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones
So Long, Astoria by the Ataris
Dateless Losers by Reel Big Fish

Also... don't keep this list from suggesting something.

I also need GM's characters' descriptions.

I wrote them two times, and I'm too lazy to do it again. I do know that descriptions of my characters are in GMOG5. Also, I'll try to scan some some drawings at school next Monday.

I'm making new versions of my characters. I was planning on uploading the pic once I was finished but I'll upload a sketch tomorrow if I can. More specifically, MJ and Tiffa have changed.

That's all right, GM... as long as I can get to the descriptions when I need them... and I remember them in GMOG5 now that you mention it.

Cool, I was definitely planning on using MJ, Marin and Tiffa... maybe even Mj's wife (forgot her name at the moment) and Urchin

Thanks Fred.

Also in the running for songs is Speed of Sound by Coldplay

Yay! Another double post! I'm going for a record!

Hopefully these links work. These are the pieces of music that are the best I've found so far, though they all have their short comings.

Frou Frou - Must Be Dreaming
This song has a moderately fast-paced tempo which would be easier to put action scenes to. It also has an ethereal quality to it which gives it a mood very open to fantastical scenes. It's lyrics don't really make much sense in English in some places, though parts of it could be applied to Party Goers kinda well. Another knock against it, is that this is probably really annoying music to a sizable portion of people (though that might be true for any music you choose)

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones - The Impression That I Get
This also has a nice fast pace making it very good for adapting action scenes to. It also has an appropriate theme for Party Goers-esque situations. It doesn't have a ethereal or epic feel to it, which doesn't open itself up to some of the more... artistic scenes I have in mind. This is also the shortest song out of all of these

Reel Big Fish - Dateless Losers
This basically has the same things as Impression, but it does slow down a couple times, making for a good change in mood that can be used effectively. It also doesn't have harsh yelling at times like Impression. Again, it's lacking anything ethereal or epic.

The Ataris - So Long, Astoria
This has really nice lyrics, that could apply nicely to Party Goers. Fast pace, has a more epic feeling to it than the previous two, though not nearly as epic as I'd like. The voices are most harsh in this song.

Coldplay - Speed of Sound
Another example of an ethereal/epic (though not very epic) I'm trying to go for. Goes a bit too slow for intense action. Action could be done, it just wouldn't feel as intense against the music even if it wasn't changed at all. It would be nice if I could find a song that has the tempo of the first listed songs as some point, but then slows down somewhere (or the other way around...) something that combines both.

And because I added Coldplay and rejected Ditto's suggestion for the exact same reason, I'll include his, though it basically has the same things going on with it like Speed of Sound.
Nobou Uematsu - Long Distance (From Vocal Collections 2 Love Will Grow)

It says I need a password to get in.

And don't include Andi. As far as everyone is concerned, MJ is single and fatherless dammit! GMOG 4 and 5 are lies!
