HATE the price structure on the eStore. Real money prices with $0.01 resolution, but you still have to buy add money to your account in $5 increments. At least before, I had the hope of my balance hitting zero if I bought things strategically.

Is it really that hard to charge people the cost of the product?

The 3D is sketchy, the Wii U controller looks like it should be mounted on a wall, there's nogaems that I'd want for either system for like half a year and the e-shop is not only kinda crappy, but they don't even sell the cards up here. I can't give them my money. It's like the company is actively refusing my money. All I wanna do is play Shantae, and that's apparently too much to ask for. Oh, and the battery life/charger sucks.

I'd be more excited for the Vita except AT&T sucks

Maybe I'll focus on PC games; Skyrim actually looks really good, in stark constrast with previous Elder Scroll games.

This E3 was so crappy that besides like Smash Brothers, Deus Ex 3 and maybe the new X-com, it makes me want to just give up on games and read a whole lot more.

Fred, get the 20 Dollar Nyko battery replacement.

I'm pumped. I love the Wii U for one reason, unequal information distribution. That's going to make console multiplayer games a lot more fun.

Also ask your local gamestore for a prepaid card. They have them in the back, trust me. I had to ask myself.

I'm expecting New Super Mario Bros Mii to be a launch title if not a pack in game. That'd be pretty sweet, really. What I'm really curious to see is that Toad Hide and Seek game.

1. I heard an update screwed with charging with some 3rd party devices.
2. I haven't seen said pack anywhere (I'm in Canada, remember)
3. They didn't even know they were different from Wii points. They're barely out in the states and they're sure as heck not out in Canada (no word if they're ever coming); I checked around and I'm not the only one annoyed in the Great White North.

Super Mario 3D Land was delightful.

Also, the eStore allows exact-price purchases now. Huzzah!

Super Mario 3D Land indeed impressed me, as well. Lasted much longer than I'd feared, and sweet LORD did it bring the challenge. The game CAME WITH IT'S OWN SEQUEL. And that sequel was THE LOST LEVELS 3D.

Speaking of pleasant surprises, Kirby's Mass Attack. This game deserves an award for Achievement In the Field of Applied Level Design. I know it's not a 3DS game, but I need to put it here.

I loved Kirby Mass Attack. It's great when Nintendo lets Hal just go nuts and do whatever the heck they want. The timing wasn't so great though. I felt it got overshadowed by both the 3DS and Nightmare in Dreamland. If that's the case, then it's a shame, because it really is one of the best Kirby games.

I'm currently playing Resident Evil: Revalations. It's great. They, for the most part, followed Resident Evil 4's lead, but brought back some of the panicked, claustrophobic feel from earlier titles. I strongly recommend it based what I've played so far. If someone else gets it, then some online Co-op may be in order...

Sometimes I wonder if Kirby's Mass Attack was originally conceived as a Kirby game. Half of me wonders if HAL was trying to create a sort of Lemmings/Pikmin platformer, and someone said "It's too risky. Slap an existing franchise label on it. Make it about Kirby."

HAL needs room to grow beyond Kirby and Smash Bros. They're great developers - they should have a vast, majestic library of franchises to milk.

I think that's how most spinoff games happen. Someone comes up with something neat, then the slap on a popular IP so people won't ignore it. Can't say I really blame them.

Yeah, that's definitely how Epic Yarn got made (and Star Fox Adventures is a much more jarring example). Maybe I'll consider Epic Yarn. 3DS-wise, I've also been wondering if I should get Sakura Samurai (and maybe the Rolling Wild or whatever)

^You know...you're very likely right about that. The only evidence NOT in your favor is how there's little sense in changing from Yoshi to Kirby. Both are popular. They'd just have to call it something other than "Yoshi's Story."

Also, if you have a 3DS, just go buy Resident Evil: Revelations right now. So far (I'm halfway through), it's the most impressive and ambitious game for this system. I'm enjoying it almost as much as Resident Evil 4. The plot is nonsensical and most of the characters are stupid, but I spend a lot of time saying "ohshitohshitohshit" and "whyiscampcomdoingthistome?" which is really all you can ask for from a survival horror game. One of the major complaints people have had is that half the segments are tense survival horror, and half are zombie-blast-fests. Personally, I find the latter cathartic after spending time fearing/running away from the monsters. It's nice to sometimes have the means to just go to town on them. Then there's an online coop mode (which I haven't tired yet), and the satisfaction of knowing you encouraged 3rd parties to care about the 3DS.

And there's also that bit of evidence where the developers stated that they started the game as an original game starring Prince Fluff, then they kinda hit a wall until Nintendo suggested implementing Kirby.
