There's going to be a sequel to Super Mario Strikers. IGN's got a video of the demo.

Some things I noticed:

-Obviously Bowser is now playable as a captain. Bowser Jr. can also been seen blacked out... the video isn't clear enough for me to tell about the others... one of the other captains might be Diddy

-You can have three different characters be on your team, rather than three of the same character

-Online play, which should give this game a lot more replay value.

Despite Ditto's lack of enthusiasm, SMS was a fun game, and it looks like they're improving everything the game had to offer in this sequel. If this is a launch title... I might actually get a Wii before Smash Bros. comes out.

Nice to see that Nintendo is letting these late-generation games get a second shot early in the Wii's lifespan. I never picked up SMS, but I definitely could be tempted to pick up the sequel.

Wait, so the main problem of a lack of playable characters is being solved? They're adding online play? Junior's there?

SOLD.

Maybe. I'm going to have to convince my sis that this would be a better buy than the original. :D And if they add things like mini-games, make the items a bit more useful, have some variety in the stages, and make it feel more Mario-ish. Then SOLD.

Wait, this means Junior will be in Strikes style.

...SOLD.

I think this game is ridiculous!! I mean, the first one just got out for the Cube!! I just don't get it! Can't Shigeru wait a couple years, maybe?

And I didn't like the first one...

See you!

What does Miyamoto have to do with this? He didn't make SMS.

I think all Mario Games (Or just Mario sin-offs) should take the Strikers approach, lots of violence but to a certain extent, I mean, you watch the trailer, you play the game, you see people being electrocuted and tackled but you pay it no mind, you still see it as an ordinary Mario game, so maybe more violence in Mario would'nt be a bad thing, I'm not saying for Mario to whip out a shotgun and go on a killing spree though.

Also, great teaser, I think it portrayed Bowser awsomely 8)

I'd rather just play real soccer really

Why bother buying it when they'll just vastly improve it on the next console?

Except it'll be a kinda long wait until the next console actually comes out, and even the you may end up saying the same thing, resulting in an endless pattern.

Besides, in real soccer you don't use an electric ball or have the ability to spontaneously set your feet on fire.

I really hope they use that art style in some future games.

Hmm, I might get this game, except I was just never a soccer/football fan, so we'll see.
